"For I know that I am fearfully and wonderfully made in You...You make it Beautiful Somehow"

About Me

My name is Lorissa. I am a follower of Christ, humble servant, wife to Chad, and mother to our two boys, Jack and Luke.

Our family's main goal in life is to be servants for Christ. Our hearts are to do His will no matter what that will be. Because of this we are about to make a big move to Houston, Texas, where God is leading us to join a team of church planters. My husband and I have a deep passion for ministering to children and families, and will be serving as the children's pastors for Advance Church.

"The Kinder Institute for Urban Research just came out with a report from the 2010 census that stated Houston has just moved past New York as the most racially/ethnically diverse city in america. It also named Pearland (our target area) and Missouri City as the most diverse parts of Houston."

Because of this one of the main goals of Advance Church is to be a multicultural church. We are so excited about what God is going to do in the coming years!

My husband and I believe, just as the Bible says, that children are a blessing and strive to live our lives to reflect that belief. We love our boys and are so excited to see how many more God is going to bless us with! Not sure if that means two, five, or ten...we will see!

I am passionate about motherhood, homemaking, homeschooling, and creating. I love thrift stores, making lists, running, and eating ice cream. (ok so I know running and ice cream kind of contradict each other but I have to run because of the ice cream!)

I desire to live a life that is honoring to God. To become more and more like Him everyday. I am so thankful for God's mercy in my life, because even thought I desire and try, I fail. A lot.  But God is merciful and forgives, and I keep trying!

I love to encourage other mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, aunts! It can sometimes be hard to continue to live a godly life as a woman when the world around us screams lies and disguises them as truth. I truly hope that anything I share can be encouraging, uplifting, helpful, bring hope, and lots of joy.
